A SECOND LIFE

In «Le feutre SA», one of the last felt factory in France, I collected some industrial felt offcuts which were considered as rubbish. Today, this felt manufacturer’s sole remaining activity is cutting. I decided to reuse this waste to talk about the loss of savoir-faire and to promote this industry which is in danger on the French territory because of relocating manufacturers.
The lamp I created randomly projects interesting and playful light forms in its environment. There is approximation in mass production: The irregularity of the material causes off‑cuts to have some variety in their shape.
